Is this engagement one way or two way?

Do we engage effectively? Do we understand the impact we are having?

Any improvements we could make?

The Sports Club committee and volunteers.

Yes

Monthly

Two way

We have mutually agreed goals and review them regularly.

None currently needed

Coaches

Yes

Pre-season and on ad hoc basis throughout the year.

The coaches are allocated junior teams with responsibilities for coaching, arranging and attending matches. These activities are regularly discussed.

Ideally a post season meeting of all coaches to discuss lessons learned.

Volunteers

Yes

Varies from weekly to monthly.

Many of the volunteers carrying out essential functions such as ground care, catering, membership recording are also members of the committee

Social media groups provide effective communication between volunteers with overall input from the committee and players.

None envisaged but if the need arises we can increase the level of communication.

Who should we engage with externally? e.g. schools*, businesses, community groups

Annually each summer term

The extent of involvement is discussed with each school and we share mutual goals.

These efforts have been successful.

There is always room for improvement however the community clearly benefits as a result of our engagement and interaction.

More sports or community activity groups using our facilities would be counted as an improvement.

When necessary

Two way

Enhancing facilities costs money and encouraging businesses to advertise through our club benefits the club’s finances and their businesses.
